Public Comments

  1. carbon
  2. carbon is not a metal, it is a nonmetal, with a few semimetallic properties, strongest... please explain what you mean by that, do you mean, most durable, heaviest, most resistant to heat? "strongest" could fit into any of those categories.
  3. To the joker somwehere above : carbon is NOT a metal. Google "strongest" and "metal", you may find Titanium or Tungsten. Look it up.
  4. Like they said, Carbon IS NOT a metal. As for the strongest metal, the periodic element tungsten is the answer. It is the heaviest metal on earth. The word "tungsten" comes from the Swedish word "heavy stone." It has the highest melting point of any other metal; standing temperatures over 1650 degrees Celsius! The metal is valued for its corrosion resistance. It is so strong, it deteriorates or breaks down slowly. For this reason, scientists also use tungsten to make rocket engine nozzles. This comic book sketch on metal man Tungsten will keep you spellbound!
  5. Tungsten may be a good choice - it is so hard it has to be ground using industrial diamonds. Also titanium, or maybe depleted uranium. Titanium is used by the military to protect pilots (like in the A-10 Warthog)and depleted uranium is used as an armor piercing round, primarily for tank killing.
  6. As far as i can remember the strongest is titanium and the lightest is lithium .Titanium is really strong in fact so strong that it was used to build anti- crash cars by masseratti
  7. I know titanium is at high temps. I think it is at low temps also.
  8. I would say titanium. Need some more numbers : ) CC
